Lip Fillers
Defined Lips with Effortless Elegance

What are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are FDA-approved dermal filler injections used to enhance lip volume, shape, and definition. Typically made from hyaluronic acid, which attracts moisture for a fuller, plumper appearance, they are administered through a quick in-lunchbreak procedure.
Our lips are incredibly unique: packed with 7,000 nerve endings, they’re your body’s most sensitive touchpoint. They’re also 60% water, which is why hyaluronic acid (HA)’s moisture-binding ability works wonders to create such natural-looking volume. After all, your lips frame your words, your kisses, and your joy, and often, they’re the first thing people notice.
Techniques of Lip Fillers
Natural Lips
This style focuses on subtly enhancing the lips using hyaluronic acid fillers to hydrate, gently define, and add a soft volume that harmonizes with your natural features, avoiding an overdone look.
Russian Lips
A specific hyaluronic acid filler injection technique that creates a highly defined, often heart-shaped lip with enhanced vertical height, particularly in the center, for a distinct, more dramatic look. This treatment will shape your lips into a subtle heart with more volume near the center, similar to a Russian doll.
Cupid's Bow Lips
This style emphasizes and enhances the distinct “M” shape of the upper lip, creating a more pronounced and defined curve in the center. It’s achieved with precise hyaluronic acid filler injections to highlight and refine this specific aesthetic feature.

Lip Fillers: What to expect?
Before the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb your lips. During the procedure, Dr. Ahmad Kamal will use a thin needle to inject the filler into parts of your lips. The process typically takes 15 to 30 minutes.
You may feel a pinching sensation, but generally, pain is mild and manageable due to the anesthetic.
Lip Fillers Recovery Timeline
- Initial Swelling: Swelling typically subsides within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure, though it may take up to a week for some patients.
- Common Side Effects: Swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, and itching are common and usually resolve within a few days to a week.
- Final Results: It generally takes about four weeks for the filler to fully settle into your lips and for you to see the final, desired aesthetic outcome.
Lip Fillers Aftercare
- Immediate Post-Procedure: Dr. Ahmad Kamal may gently massage and ice your lips immediately after the injections. They will also monitor you for up to 15 minutes to ensure you don't experience any immediate side effects. At home, apply ice to your lips to help ease swelling, itching, bruising, and pain. Avoid touching or rubbing your lips and engaging in strenuous activities for the first few days.
- Follow-up: A follow-up appointment is often scheduled about two weeks after the procedure to assess your lips and address any concerns.
- Things to Avoid: Your doctor will likely recommend avoiding alcohol, blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen), and smoking for at least a week before and after the treatment.
When will I see the final
results of my Lip Fillers?
You will see immediate results with lip fillers. However, once the initial swelling subsides, the results may not look as pronounced. It typically takes about four weeks for the filler to fully settle and for you to see the final, desired look. The results generally last 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler and individual metabolism

How long will my Lip Fillers result last?
The results of lip fillers are temporary and typically last between 6 to 12 months on average. Some individuals may find their results last up to 18 months, while others might need a touch-up sooner.
Risks of Lip Fillers
- Bleeding, swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and itching at the injection sites.
- More severe, though rare, complications can include filler migration, lumps, or vascular occlusion (but only when filler is over-injected or injected into or around an artery, reducing or stopping blood flow, that’s why it is crucial to choose a highly trained and experienced injector.)
